Call for Science posters

The deadline to submit a proposal is March 20, 2026

As part of its 19th annual conference, Green Marine is launching a call for scientific posters to showcase programs, research, case studies, and technical innovations that contribute to the ecological transition and the environmental performance of maritime transport. This space aims to create connections between science, innovation, data sharing, and industrial application.

Green Marine invites university researchers, students, consultants, engineers, representatives of government agencies or environmental groups, maritime or port companies, and anyone working in environmental research and innovation in link with the maritime industry.

Themes to Choose From

Poster submissions must relate to one or more of the following themes:

 

 

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions (electrification, shore power, alternative fuels, wind propulsion)


Climate resilience and adaptation in port infrastructure

Circular economy and waste management in maritime operations

Digital innovation and artificial intelligence for the maritime industry’s environmental performance

Biodiversity and ecosystem health

Health, safety, and environmental equity for port workers and communities

HOW TO SUBMIT A POSTER PROJECT
  • Complete the online form at the bottom of this web page by Friday, March 20, 2026
  • Include a 250–300-word abstract
COSTS

Selected participants will be able to choose between two packages:

  1. Display and participation in the event (at the preferential rate of $500)
  2. Display only, without representation (at the rate of $100)

SELECTION AND BENEFITS

Selected participants will be notified in the weeks following the closing of the call for proposals.

Each selected poster will entitle the selected participants to:

  • Collection of the printed poster after the event;
  • Conference registration for one author (if costs’ option A is chosen);
  • Visibility on the website and in the official program;
  • Posters will be eligible for the RQM Best Scientific Poster Award, to be voted on by GreenTech delegates. The winner will be announced at the June 11 certification event and will receive a $1,000 grant generously offered by Réseau Québec Maritime.
EVALUATION

The selection committee will evaluate proposals based on:

  1. The relevance of the content to the GreenTech 2026 themes and the issues addressed by Green Marine’s certification program;
  2. The innovative or transferable nature of the project;
  3. The clarity and scientific rigour of the poster description provided in the form.
EXPECTED CONTENT OF SELECTED POSTER PROPOSALS

Each poster must:

  • Present a research or technical project, a pilot project (completed or ongoing), or a program;
  • Highlight concrete results, application potential, and/or added value for the marine industry;
  • Mention partners, funding sources, and key data;
  • Be written in English.
POSTER SUBMISSION AND PRESENTATION
  • The poster PDF must be emailed to Green Marine no later than May 8, 2026;
  • Green Marine will print the posters in the following dimensions: 76,2 cm (30 inches) (width) x 101,6 cm (40 inches) (height);
  • Posters will be available for public display throughout the conference;
  • A one-minute quick presentation session (1-minute pitch) with the authors attending the event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, or Thursday, June 11, during the lunch hour in the exhibitors' area.
  • Participants may submit a digital abstract for integration into the conference's mobile app.
