Logistec begins using new eco-efficient electric crane at the Port of Montreal

October 15, 2021

The Logistec Stevedoring bulk and breakbulk terminal at the Port of Montreal recently celebrated the delivery of a brand-new eco-efficient Gottwald Model 7 Mobile Electric Harbour Crane manufactured by Finnish industry leader Konecranes. The welcomed addition to Logistec’s fleet of high-quality equipment will not only significantly improve cargo-handling efficiency but run more quietly and cleanly on electric power to further enhance Logistec’s positioning on sustainable efficiency.

With 150 metric tons of capacity, the smart crane handles various commodities, including metal products and dry bulk cargo, and can serve up to Capesize vessels (the largest class of bulk ships). The smart crane is yet another of the solutions Logistec has implemented to improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions across its network in alignment with Green Marine goals and the further strengthening of its ambitious sustainable development program for a cleaner, greener world.
