The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality is soliciting applications for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions – particularly from fleets operating at or servicing goods movement facilities located in areas designated as having poor air quality.
Priority for funding will be given to projects that result in outcomes that benefit affected communities, engage affected communities with respect to the project’s design and performance, and can demonstrate the ability to promote and continue efforts to reduce emissions after the project has ended.
Eligible entities include American port authorities that have jurisdiction over transportation or air quality, and non-profit organizations or institutions that either represent or provide pollution reduction or educational services to diesel fleets or have as their principal purpose the promotion of transportation or air quality.
EPA anticipates awarding approximately $40 million in DERA funding. Awards will be issued and managed through EPA’s regional offices. The request for applications closing date has been extended to March 26, 2019. Application formBack to news
